Band Of Bloggers- June

Toes in the water, sunshine on the skin, evenings spent watching blinking fireflies or brilliant fireworks, all the little indulgences that only summer can bring. As it’s arriving soon (in the northern hemisphere), for June, we want to know the special ways you indulge during the summer months.

Any activities you look forward to? For some, it involves dodging bugs to searching for respite from soaring temps. But for everyone it means longer daylight hours. What is your summer indulgence?

I wish summer meant beach vacations, fun adventures, cookouts, late night movie watching and ice cream runs but in reality it just equals busy season for work. With my husband’s long hours and both our busy schedules, it’s almost impossible to plan any summer fun sadly. I would say we mostly indulge in our ice cream runs to the local frozen custard shop together for an icy treat to help get us through the heat of the summer.

Continuing with gratification, what’s the most indulgent fragrance purchase you have ever made or been gifted? A special bottle of perfume, exclusive wax opening, or pricey, fancy pants candle?

I just can not justify dropping big bucks  on a bottle of perfume, (i.e $80 +). This may not be fancy or extra pricey but this bottle of perfume is special. My mom bought me a small bottle when it first came out and I enjoyed it so much it became my main perfume as a teen. Fast forward a few years later to a day that me and my mother were wedding planning. I had mentioned this fragrance and how I wished I could find more to wear it on my wedding day because of all the memories it has with it. That’s when my mother surprised me days before my wedding with this bottle.

Bombshell The Summer Edition is a luscious tropical fragrance, limited edition for summer 2012. It contains notes of star fruit, pear, wild lily of the valley, jasmine, exotic red tea and white amber.

Lastly, how would you indulge if $ was no object? It could be a luxe fragrance you desire, a pampering spa package, a legendary retired scent, etc. What is your dream way to treat yo’ self?

This is tough as I am usually rather simplistic and don’t really pamper myself and to treat myself it is usually only on a wax purchase. When I was telling my hubbie about this question, he laughed and said “Easy, you would clean out Super Tarts. You’d call them and say okay, send me all you got, except for the patchouli ones, I don’t want those.’

I would also like to have a few pies of Peppermint Coconut Mallow from Rose Girls and maybe go a little crazy in a lush store.

Frozen custard runs totally sound like summertime. Any flavors you love?

What a sweet gift from your mom! Moms are good like that aren’ t they? My mom always pays attention to stuff like that too. Gifting is one of her love languages so she tries extra hard to make sure it is something appreciated. I hope that bottle lasts you a good long while.

Super Tarts Super Market Sweep huh??? Sounds brilliant!! I will take the patchouli though…

I go pretty simple when it comes to ice cream, Butterfinger concrete is my jam! Though an occasional snow monster is nice! (Vanilla ice cream, fresh blended strawberries and chocolate chunks)

Yes, she was such a dear to get me another bottle of this. I’m almost out again so I’m savoring each spray and memories that come along with them.

Alright, I will say send them all and will send you all the patchouli ones!! 😀

    Mmmm, craving some custard now.
What a lovely fragrance gift from your mom! The notes sound delightful; I may have to sample that one.
Your husband’s response made me LOL! That much Super Tarts would definitely be amazing. Lush would also be a great indulgence for sure.

What a lovely gift from your mother! That’s so nice.

I also don’t really do the beach/vacation/beach vacation thing in the summer – like you, busy with work and just generally trying to beat the heat. I’m SO not a hot weather person either, so staying indoors suits me pretty well.

I can totally relate to not doing hot weather, it turns me into the incredible hulk lol, total hulk mode haha! Thats what I call it anyways as heat just gets me all grumpy. Now I’m down for some fall and winter though I freeze my butt off, is rather be cold than sweating!

Summer ice cream runs are the greatest, they just make you feel like a kid again😊
Love your perfume story, it’s so touching to have a scent associated with happy memories. I must try to do that more often.
I hope you get time to have at least a little summer fun!
P.S. I think you are on your way to cleaning out Super Tarts already!
